A heartfelt warm welcome awaits your arrival to our homely holiday chalet in Sleat on the Isle of Skye. The chalet nestles in a quiet and private location in Camuscross, by the shore side of the picturesque village of Isle Ornsay, a secluded little crofting village of whitewashed cottages that once was Skye's main fishing port, and now is one of its most attractive villages. Sleat is most commonly known as "Lios An Eilean" - The Garden of Skye.
The chalet is purposely positioned offering the most amazing and incredible sea views from your breakfast table, where often you will experience a magical tapestry of exciting colours no matter what season, picture post-card images and majestic scenery, whilst gazing at the wild ducks bathing themselves in the pond in the garden, or simply admiring the oyster-catchers and the herons, who frequently visit the bay. Looking onto the tall white lighthouse that winks at you throughout the day and night, with its light reflecting in the sea at night blended with the continuing stream of coloured lights reflecting from white to red to green, shinning into the sky from the passing boats which sail in the night, it is an unforgettable memory that stays with you. There are times you struggle to want to go to bed at night, drawn by these magnificent views.
Surrounded by wooden decking, it provides the unique opportunity to sit outside on the front deck, where you can relax and enjoy the glorious scenery, breathtaking sea views and surrounding woodland beauty.
The chalet is ideally situated for access to facilities. The well known and award-winning "Hotel Eilean Iarmain" - Isle Ornsay Hotel, a historic building dating back to 1888, authentic in style with old world charm, offers true highland hospitality. It serves meals and snacks, and has a pub that offers some very enjoyable traditional music nights and Ceilidhs with Gaelic Songs. It is within walking distance of the chalet.
The chalet is log cabin style, comprised of a utility / entrance porch, hall, open plan kitchen / dining and sitting room area with stunning sea views. It also offers hot and cold water, oil central heating, double glazed windows and doors, electrical hob and oven, fridge and freezer. There is a laundry wet room / outhouse adjacent to the chalet offering washing machines and tumble drier, and the facility to dry wet gear and wellies.
It has 3 bedrooms, accommodating 6 persons. One double bedded room; one double kingsize or twin bedded room, and one twin room. A cot is also available.
